The massage field’s leading research organization announced the election of two new trustees Feb. 24.

The Massage Therapy Foundation is a nonprofit organization that promotes research, community service and education in the field of therapeutic massage and bodywork.

Karen Boulanger, N.C.T.M.B., and Clifford Korn, L.M.T., begin terms on the Board of Trustees on March 1. Their terms will end Feb. 28, 2011.

Boulanger, of San Jose, California, is the Practice Section editor for the Foundation’s new online journal, the International Journal of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. Boulanger has also served as a volunteer on several committees for the Massage Therapy Foundation, including the Community Service Grant Proposal Review Committee and the Research Synthesis Workgroup. In addition to her office in Campbell, California, Boulanger provides care to children and pregnant women at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. She is a PhD candidate at the University of Iowa, studying community and behavioral health.

Clifford Korn, of Windham, New Hampshire is a full-time practicing massage therapist and owner of Windham Health Center Neuromuscular Therapy LLC. Korn is a former member of the Massage Therapy Foundation’s Advisory Council and also serves as a volunteer on the Foundation’s Development Committee.
