Franchise grows partnership with holistic skin care company dermalogica®; nearly quadruples number of nationwide locations offering skin therapy
San Antonio, Texas. Massage Heights, a premium membership-based massage franchise company, has launched new skin therapy services in nearly a third of its retreats around the country. New “body + face” Retreats will offer customized skin therapy and skin treatment services to deliver the best health for each guest’s skin, in partnership with dermalogica®, known worldwide as an innovator in skin care.
“Massage Heights is excited to announce this expansion due to the successful roll out of the skin treatment services in select San Antonio and California locations,” said Alexandra Charpentier, director of marketing and communications for Massage Heights. “We’re in tune with what our guests want–they love the ability to receive both a quality massage and skin treatment in one place that’s convenient and affordable. Today, we’ve made that possible in 35 body + face Retreats nationwide.”
Skin treatments will focus on specific benefits, such as anti-aging, clear skin, sensitive skin and skin brightening. All treatments will include a professional double cleanse, exfoliation, extractions, masque, toner and skin protection. Participating Retreat locations will also offer three types of elevations, or add-on services, to enrich, refine or purify guests’ skin, as well as sell a variety of dermalogica® products.
“When Guests leave a Massage Heights Retreat, we want them to feel relaxed and invigorated. Having healthy skin is important to help elevate those feelings–it’s the body’s largest organ,” said Daniel Jaramillo, L.M.T., director of industry relations and development for Massage Heights. “We’re taking the therapeutic benefits of our services to the next level with dermalogica.® Not unlike massage therapy, skin therapy offers a variety of health benefits like increased circulation and removal of environmental impurities.”
Massage Heights’ professional skin therapists are licensed aestheticians who are specifically trained on dermalogica® products and procedures at The International Dermal Institute, recognized worldwide as the premier provider of postgraduate skin care education. Rigorous training will ensure all skin care professionals meet the highest level of training and expertise, enabling them to give reliable and accurate skin consultations without the hype and faddism that dominates the skin care industry.

Dermalogica® revolutionized the skin care industry when it emerged into the marketplace in 1986 with innovative formulations, which excluded common irritants, including SD alcohol, lanolin, mineral oil and artificial colors and fragrances. Jane Wurwand developed the products to better support the advanced curriculum she had developed a few years earlier for The International Dermal Institute, which she also founded. Wurwand led the company’s growth from an idea to the world’s most-requested professional skin care brand.
Dermalogica® today has offices in more than 50 countries and its products are sold in more than 80 markets worldwide. Dermalogica products are available in select skin treatment centers on the recommendation of a qualified professional skin therapist in addition to the brand’s concept spaces in Santa Monica, California; New York, New York; London, England; Berlin, Germany; Auckland, New Zealand; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; and Mumbai, India and online at Dermalogica.com.
