An international franchise-membership massage company this week announced it will serve as a national sponsor of the American Cancer Society‘s DetermiNation half-marathon and marathon training program.
The partnership entails financial support; a piece where Massage Heights therapists will provide hands-on massage to participants attending retreats and trainings; post-race massage where the individual races’ organizers allow it; and more, Alexandra Charpentier, Massage Heights’ director of marketing and communications told MASSAGE Magazine.
In 2011, the American Cancer Society had 750 people run on behalf of their tea in the Chicago Marathon, Charpentier said.
The DetermiNation program is the American Cancer Society’s team of athletes determined to end cancer. Athletes of all abilities and volunteers dedicate their training and participation in half-marathons and marathons to help fight cancer, with sponsorships benefits the American Cancer Society.
“This collaboration will allow Massage Heights members and non-member guests, franchisees and employees the opportunity to participate as a member of the National Massage Heights DetermiNation team, improving their health and running for a cause,” a press release noted.
