MASSAGE Magazine’s Facebook page connects with more than 10,000 fans

MASSAGE Magazine Surpasses 10,000 Fans on Facebook, MASSAGE MagazineMASSAGE Magazine prides itself on using social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to further connect with professionals in the massage industry. During the first week of April, the magazine accomplished quite a feat when it surpassed 10,000 fans on Facebook.

“We continuously strive to connect with professionals within the massage industry through all of our social media outlets, and we’ve discovered many massage therapists and industry leaders are using Facebook as their social media vehicle of choice,” said Jennifer Whalen, managing editor of MASSAGE Magazine and associate editor of integrated media for www.MASSAGEmag.com. “By posting news items, articles, products, self-care and business tips, as well as asking for feedback and announcing giveaways and special subscription offers, we have increased our Facebook fan base and continue to see those numbers climb.”

Whalen added, “We also utilize our Facebook presence to encourage discussion amongst the massage community, and we take to heart the kinds of questions massage therapists pose on our page and use that feedback to provide educational tools to serve their personal and professional needs as touch therapists.”

Because of the magazine’s growing presence on Facebook, it launched a monthly Facebook giveaway program Nov. 1, and has featured a new prize each month. The program has been well-received.

“We truly appreciate our readers, and because of the popularity of Facebook, we wanted to offer our Facebook fans a chance to win prizes that will help them in their everyday practice,” said Whalen. “Each month, we will offer our fans a chance to win a range of prizes, from massage lubricants and educational materials to table accessories. We want to support the massage industry as well as the companies producing these high-quality products—but most importantly, we want to support massage therapists in the healing work they do.”

So far, the magazine has partnered with such industry leaders as Bon Vital, Erik Dalton, Ph.D., Performance Health/Hygenic Corporation, BIOTONE and Oakworks.

For the month of April, the magazine has partnered with Chaco footwear to offer five lucky Facebook fans a pair of PedShed shoes. April’s giveaway will end April 30 at 4 p.m. EST, and this particular giveaway is only offered to Facebook fans of MASSAGE Magazine (www.facebook.com/massagemagazine).
