Six massage schools were awarded one $500 scholarship apiece from a leading massage-and-spa body care company, the company announced Feb. 4.

The 2009 Edu-Scholarship Fund is funded by BIOTONE, a longtime leader in the creation of massage lubricants and personal care products. The scholarships will be distributed to students at the COMTA-accredited schools.

The recipient schools are East-West College of Healing Arts, in Portland, Oregon; Potomac Massage Therapy Institute, in Washington, D.C.; Cayce/Reilly School of Massotherapy, in Virginia Beach, Virginia; American Institute of Massage, in Richmond, Virginia; CenterPoint Massage and Shiatsu School and Clinic, in Minneapolis, Minnesota; and the International Professional School of Bodywork, in San Diego, California.
