Today the Massage Therapy Foundation  (MTF) announced the five winners of its annual Student Case Report Contest. They include:

First Place-Gold Award: Mary Wakefield of the New Zealand College of Massage in Auckland, New Zealand, with her case report entitled “The Effects of Massage Therapy on Thoracic Outlet Syndrome.”

Second Place-Silver Award: Heidie C. Furin of Cortiva Institute–Seattle in Seattle, Washington, for her case report entitled “Combination Structural and Swedish Massage on a Patient with Post-Operative Bunions.”

Third Place-Bronze Award: Nicole Riou of Grant MacEwan University in Alberta, Canada, for her report on “Massage Therapy for Essential Tremor: Quieting the Mind.”

The MTF advances the knowledge and practice of massage by supporting scientific research, education and community service.
