The Chicago Tribune recently reported on how massage helped White Sox pitcher Jake Peavy, in an article titled “Massage therapist helps Peavy stay on track.”

“… Peavy credits his hiring of a massage therapist early in his rehab from a detached latissimus dorsi muscle near his right shoulder with preventing a bulk scar tissue that would have necessitated another surgery,” the article read. It quoted Peavey as saying, “‘I hired a massage therapist to be with me full time for that reason because scar tissue can get in there with such a big attachment that it can be a nightmare.'”
