Massage therapists and other health care professionals, as well as members of the public, are invited to attend a web-based meeting of the Advisory Group on Prevention, Health Promotion, and Integrative and Public Health on Nov. 21.

In mid-October, MASSAGE Magazine reported that President Barack Obama had announced his intent to nominate massage therapist and researcher Janet R. Kahn, Ph.D., to an administration post. Kahn is now in that post as a member of the Advisory Group on Prevention, Health Promotion, and Integrative and Public Health.

The meeting is scheduled for Nov. 21 from 3 to 5 p.m. EST. To attend, people must register by 12 p.m. EST on Nov. 17 by emailing their contact information to prevention.council@hhs.gov. Registration information and information on the WebEx software will then be sent in return. Additionally, written comments for the Advisory Group members should be sent to prevention.council@hhs.gov by 12 p.m. EST Nov. 10.
