Massage therapists will provide pre- and post-race massage sessions on participants in the 115th Boston Marathon, to be held April 18.

Volunteer applications will be available one week from today, on Jan. 11, and the deadline to return them is Feb. 11.

A pre-race massage team will work at the Athletes’ Village in Hopkinton from 5:30 a.m. to Noon. “Massage therapists provide pre-event therapy, including emergency cramp management and care for injuries,” the Boston Athletic Association website notes.

A post-event massage center will be set up in John Hancock Hall’s Dorothy Quincy Suite from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Volunteers will also distribute water, assist with table set-up, move supplies and escort athletes. Massage therapists are responsible for supplying their own equipment
