Evanston, IL. The Massage Therapy Foundation (MTF) Board of Trustees has announced that Gini S. Ohlson, the American Massage Therapy Association’s (AMTA) current foundation director, will become its executive director on July 1, 2013.
For more than a year, the MTF and AMTA have been examining the most beneficial structure for the MTF. Since the MTF was founded, its executive director post has been held by the AMTA executive director as part of an annual agreement. Both organizations feel it is time for the MTF to function more independently. Ohlson has been AMTA’s staff director for the MTF since June 1998.
“With Gini’s 15 years of experience at AMTA and directly managing the day-to-day operations of the MTF during that time, the board is confident in her abilities and understanding of the foundation,” says MTF President Ruth Werner. “We feel she knows our donors and supporters and will successfully help lead the future direction of the Foundation. Gini has already given so much to the MTF over her many years of service that it was a natural selection for her to be our new executive director. She will also be perfectly suited to continue to help maintain the ongoing and very strong relationship between the Foundation and AMTA.”
