Massage Therapy Foundation Welcomes Jerrilyn Cambron, Ph.D., as PresidentThe Massage Therapy Foundation (MTF) has announced its newly elected president, Jerrilyn Cambron, Ph.D., of Lombard, Illinois. Cambron will serve a two-year term beginning March 1, 2014, until Feb. 29, 2016.

Cambron has been a trustee with the foundation since 2010. She took the vice presidency role in 2012. She has served on several of the foundation’s committees including: grant review, e-journal and the case report committees.

Cambron is a professor in the Department of Research at the National University of Health Sciences. In addition to her doctor of chiropractic degree, she holds both a master’s degree in public health and a doctorate in epidemiology from the School of Public Health at the University of Illinois-Chicago. She is also a licensed massage therapist and founder of MassageNet, a practice-based research network for massage therapists. Cambron is the associate editor for the Journal of Bodywork and Movement Therapies and writes a column for Massage & Bodywork on somatic research.

“I am looking forward to transitioning into the presidency role,” said Cambron, “The mission of the foundation directly connects with my core beliefs of advancing massage therapy research, education and community service.”

Cambron will succeed Ruth Werner, who served as president of MTF since March 2010. Werner will remain on the board of trustees and will serve as the immediate past president.
