DALLAS, Texas – January 18, 2018 – The Massage Therapy Schools Information Institute (MTSI) is pleased to announce it is now accepting applications for its 2018 Massage Therapy Schools Scholarship Award. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Scholarship applicants must submit an essay via email on one of the provided topics. The application deadline for the fall scholarship is March 31, 2018, and the deadline for the winter scholarship is November 30, 2018. Fall scholarship applicants will be considered for the winter scholarship without having to resubmit their application.
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must be intending to enroll in massage school within the next 12 months. Awards may be used for tuition or other school-related expenses.
Applicants will be asked to write a 750-word or longer essay that provides background information on the applicant and what they were doing before choosing to study massage therapy. In addition, they will be asked to write on one of four specific topics: (1) An event or situation that had a profound impact on how you viewed massage therapy. (2) Challenges you have face researching the massage profession, school options, financial aid and job prospects. (3) Why you chose massage therapy as a career. (4) The attributes of a successful massage practitioner. Submitted essays will be posted on the MTSI website. Applicants are encouraged to share their essays on social media and ask friends to “like” or “share” them. The number of likes and shares will be included in the evaluation process as it signals the essay resonated with readers.
