Massage Without Borders, a nonprofit organization that coordinates fundraisers and provides financial and product assistance to massage therapists facing health crises or other challenges, has a new executive director.
Stephanie L. Block, L.M.T., C.L.T., N.C.T.M.B., lives and practices massage therapy in Missouri. She has served as fundraiser for St. Mary’s Medical Center, Rainbow Center, and the Blue Springs Golden Regiment Marching Band. She is active in her church.
Block recently has begun mission work and just returned from serving at Deborah’s House in Tijuana, Mexico, where she spent 10 days providing massage and energy work to abused women, missionaries and staff members.
She takes the reins of Massage Without Borders from the hands of Gloria Coppola, who founded the organization in the wake of Superstorm Sandy, in late 2012, and who is choosing to concentrate on other massage-and-bodywork related endeavors.
The organizers of the World Massage Festival named Massage Without Borders as the recipient of the 2013 Aunty Margaret Humanitarian Award.
