El Segundo, Calif. Murad Inc. has announced that Fred Gysi has joined the Murad family as chief financial officer, overseeing the finance and accounting departments at Murad, reporting to Richard Murad, general manager. In this role, Gysi will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, treasury and cash-flow management, financial and marketing analysis and strategic planning.

Gysi comes to Murad with 25 years of financial and accounting experience. Most recently, Gysi was the chief financial officer for Canon Communications, a trade show and B2B publishing company. While at Canon, Gysi helped position the company for its successful sale to UBM, a United Kingdom-based conglomerate. Most notably, Gysi was CFO at THQ Inc. during a five-year period in which the company achieved 45 percent annual revenue growth and 85 percent annual profit growth, while increasing market capitalization from $100 million to $1.5 billion. Other experience includes stints with Deloitte & Touche as partner and chief financial officer of Creativity Inc., an arts and crafts distributor. Gysi graduated from Colorado College with a degree in business administration and received his MBA in finance/marketing from the University of California, Los Angeles.
