Massage therapists who belong to a U.S. massage association can promote massage therapy and raise the profession’s profile with the American Massage Therapy Association’s (AMTA) National Massage Therapy Awareness Week.

This year the week runs Oct. 24–30. “[The week] is designed to raise public understanding about the benefits of massage, attract media attention to nationwide activities being carried out by AMTA chapters, members, as well as AMTA school members, and to give all AMTA members an opportunity to demonstrate their profession and skill,” readers a statement on the association’s website.

The AMTA provides promotional materials, including a poster and publicity guide, to its members at www.amtamassage.org.
