On Jan. 27 the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) announced the election of its new board officers and appointment of a new member, both made during its first-quarter meeting in Orlando, Florida.

The NCBTMB offers certification exams for massage therapists.

The nine members of the NCBTMB board of directors supervise, control and direct the affairs of the national certification program, as well as its committees, publications and examinations. They also determine NCBTMB policies and procedures.

The new board officers are: chair-elect Alexa Zaledonis, a massage therapist and spa owner from Annapolis, Maryland, and treasurer Michele Baker, a massage therapist in private practice in Jackson, Mississippi. New board member W. Randy Snyder is a chiropractor and school owner; his city and state were not available as of press time.
