The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) is in the process of restructuring its Approved Provider/Continuing Education Program.
The organization, which administers national certification exams, works with 1,700 approved providers of continuing education, according to an NCBTMB press release.
The NCBTMB is now soliciting input from massage organizations, subject-matter experts, approved providers, schools, certificants and state-board representatives to engage in discussions about the overhaul of its program.
Topics of discussion include enhancing and defining levels of continuing education offered to practitioners; identifying appropriate modalities and acceptable content for the evolving profession; and developing concise entry-level through advanced-level descriptors to aid practitioners in selecting continuing education.
