The Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB) has announced new leadership resulting from elections.

The 7th Annual Meeting of the FSMTB was held in New Orleans, Louisiana, with 83 representatives from state licensing boards, according to a press release.

Among the election results:

• President: Jaime Huffman, former chair of the North Carolina Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy

• Vice president: Karen Armstrong, chair of the Michigan Board of Massage

• Treasurer: Dennis Beye, chair of the Arizona Board of Massage Therapy

The Federation’s mission is to support its member boards in their work of public protection, improve communication between states and offer prospects for enhanced licensing reciprocity for the ultimate benefit of safe massage and bodywork practice protecting consumers.
