CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA – September 9, 2011 – Healing Arts Institute, the leading massage school in the North Sacramento, California, area is now under new leadership. After 21 years at the helm of this unique institution, renowned therapist Dr. James Mally has transferred ownership of the school to entrepreneur and Healing Arts graduate Diedrea Jensen.

Mally, a full doctor of naturopathic medicine, has been a prominent figure in the world of massage as an educator since 1979. He has produced numerous videos, DVDs, workbooks and workshops which are utilized in programs around the country. His contribution to the school has been immeasurable and he will continue to instruct advanced courses in deep tissue, sports massage and anatomy at the school.

Jensen brings along with her business and marketing experience, a deep passion for the value of bodywork, tremendous respect for the tradition established by Mally and many years of commitment to the communities in and around Sacramento. She sees Healing Arts as a school that is in a unique position to continue providing the best massage therapy training while also being a vital part of life in Sacramento.

Looking forward, Jensen has high hopes for the school. The administration is refreshing the curriculum and the educational experience, building on past successes to create a model program that is completely in sync with the upcoming changes in the California Massage Therapy Council requirements for state approved schools. Highlights for the new year will be brand-new electives and continuing education courses as well as streamlined 250-hour and 500-hour programs designed to meet the needs of today’s students who have multiple education choices and busy work schedules.

Both Mally and Jensen are excited about the new direction for Healing Arts Institute. Open house dates will be announced later in the fall. For more information, visit the school’s website, www.healingartsinstitute.com.
