Judge David A. Boynton recently ruled that the Maryland Board of Chiropractic Examiners have no jurisdiction over animal massage, The Washington Post reports, meaning Mercedes Clemens may now go back to the work she is passionate about.
Clemens’s lawyer, Paul Sherman, found the board’s actions as a severe infingment on Mercedes’s rights and was very concerned that it took 17 months to reverse the board’s decision.
Trish Rimo will attest she has seen the impact of animal massage on the Great Pyrenees, a breed of dog, she rescued four years ago. She believes that his change in behavior from wild to calm is due to the dog’s massages.
