Master Spas® ” a Fort Wayne, Indiana-based design and manufacturing company of portable hot tubs and luxury spas ” and Olympic medalist and World Champion track and field star, Allyson Felix, are promoting the health benefits and soothing therapy of hot water immersion.
A recent two-year study sponsored by the National Swimming Pool Foundation® explains how the simple act of bodily immersion in hot water helps promote healthier bodies, hearts, minds, and lifestyles. Startling research shows that both the body and mind benefit from the simple act of immersion in hot or warm water, much like that of aerobic exercise ” the changes include increased circulation, more efficient breathing, and improvements in mood.
Felix selected the Master Spas LSX1050 STS as her personal spa of choice, known for its Xtreme Therapy Seat, dual reverse StressRelief„ seat, and accompanying Spa Theater System (STS). Soaking in my Master Spas hot tub is as vital as warming up and training before any race, says Felix. This is therapy for mind, body, and soul.
Additionally, Master Spas® is a sponsor of Allyson Felix, a member of the 2008 US Olympic track and field team slated to compete in Beijing Olympics held in Beijing, China, in August. Felix secured her position by finishing the 200 meters in 21.82 seconds. Felix has already won three gold medals in the 2007 IAAF World Championships in Osaka, Japan; and she finished as a silver medalist in the 200 meter at the Athens Olympics in 2004. We are really very proud to have this relationship with Ms. Felix, adds Bob Lauter, CEO of Master Spas. Our spas are uniquely designed to complement a healthy lifestyle, and her choice of the LSX1050 STS is good because of the adjustable therapy features ideally suited for the athlete and non-athlete alike.
The LSX1050 STS is a 10-foot spa, perfect for large families and features the Xtreme Therapy Seat plus dual reverse StressRelief„ seats; and the spa™s LED lights and waterfalls provide perfectly controlled atmosphere. About NSPF Health Benefit Research
The NSPF is the leading research sponsor and educator in the aquatics fields and is the largest funding source for grants to study aquatic health benefits in swimming pools and hot tubs. Purchases of the Hot Water & Healthy Living book will help to fund more health-benefit research in the future, some of which will be performed at the newly formed National Aquatics and Sports Medicine Institute at Washington State University which was funded in part by a $1 million grant from NSPF in January, 2008. Additionally, from 2004-2008, the NSPF has committed $819,226 to studying aquatic health benefits. NSPF is taking a lead in demonstrating aquatic health benefits. This type of work will benefit mankind for decades, says Dr. Lachocki. By once again investing one-half of its grants budget, the NSPF is commissioning research that positions pools and spas to be a key defense in the war on chronic disease. We will grow the body of evidence to make it more evident that water is good for your body, he emphasizes.
