From the MASSAGE Magazine article, “Good Eats: Lower Cholesterol with Dietary Changes,” by Erin Zimniewicz Williams, in the February 2009  issue. Article summary: Dietary changes can lower your total cholesterol and reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke.

There are two types of EFAs: omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. To maintain overall health, you should consume approximately 10 times more omega-6 than omega-3 fatty acids.

Certain supplements can help boost your intake of omega-6 fatty acids. These include:

• Evening primrose
• Borage
• Black currant seed oils
