Loreen Aubrey-Kirk may be short on cash, but she’s not short on drive, initiative and dreams.
The aspiring entrepreneur has been homeless for more than a year, but that has not deterred her from pursuing a goal of owning a mobile massage therapy practice.
Aubrey-Kirk has resided at Austin Street Center in downtown Dallas since August 2011. Since then she has held various jobs and graduated from massage therapy school.
She’s now applying for a small business loan through Banking on People, a new program launched by Austin Street Center and Plano-based Benchmark Bank.
