In my college days, my dancer friends used to ask me to walk on their backs after a hard day’s rehearsal. I didn’t weigh much, but my feet could exert more pressure than my puny hands and wouldn’t tire as easily. The result was a deeper massage for them and a fun balancing act for me.
The philosophy—though not the technique—behind Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy is pretty much the same. It allows the practitioner to give a deeper, fuller massage without tiring, and allows the client to experience a massage that reaches the body’s underlying layers of muscles.
