Parents looking for ways to calm a fussy baby or strengthen the bond with their infant might benefit from infant massage classes …
Leah Meidl, a public health nurse for the Health Department who was certified, said infant massage involves parents or caregivers using baby-safe grape seed oil to massage infants between 1 and 7 months old.
Meidl said the technique can benefit both the masseuse or masseur and the baby. Parents can expect babies to experience improved mood, circulation, sleep, digestion and brain development, while building a stronger bond with their baby and a better understanding of the child’s cues.
