When you walk into Diane Bryant’s Still Waters massage studio, the first thing you see is a wall with a giant hand-painted Phoenix–a symbol of rebirth.
Bryant considers it a befitting depiction of her journey to the healing arts.
Five years ago, the former IRS tax examiner, English teacher, state bureaucrat and technical writer would never have said she’d be where she is today…
When her husband died in 2004, Bryant says she was left emotionally and mentally drained.
Broken and weak, Bryant went back to work at an engineering firm in Lexington, and each day walked by the Lexington Healing Arts Academy.
“I felt it was speaking to me,” Bryant says, and she soon enrolled in classes and began her own “rebirth” through learning how to help others.
