In a cruelly ironic twist to the flip modern “use it or lose it” maxim, pianist Leon Fleisher almost “lost it” when the repetitive stress of overuse forced his hand to make him withdraw from a brilliant early career …

[But] Fleisher back in the recording studio and in concert by 2004 … [by using] Rolfing and Botox as a kind of tandem solution, in the mid-1990s.

“The Rolfing, for me, was very important” … Fleisher says … “I did it twice a week for a year, before it restored the normal plasticity, resilience and normal state of looseness of the tissue.”
