When you buy less unnecessary stuff, you create a positive chain reaction—less of it gets produced, less of it has to be transported, and less of it has to be disposed of—so I keep my carbon footprint small by using as little of everything as possible.
I purchase products that have the least impact on the environment—things with less packaging and sustainable, locally produced ingredients. I buy in bulk so that I drive or get deliveries less often, and I use my own shopping bags instead of collecting a lot of plastic. I walk or ride my bike whenever possible, use energy-efficient appliances and unplug everything unless I’m using it. Also, I recycle or properly dispose of everything including technology and unused medications.
