For four years on Friday nights, I did on-site chair massage at a three-level converted warehouse that was home to four restaurants, two nightclubs and more. I had to perform 50-plus chair massages in an evening, and it was hard to have the right mix of client focus and observer recognition in such a chaotic environment. There were times when groups of five to 12 people would come in and wait, watching as each person got a massage. But with lobby traffic of more than 1,000 people some nights, I met groups of people from all over the world.
