One practice I believe is safe and promotes long-lasting relationships with clients is the practice of referral-building. A massage therapist does not need to spend thousands of dollars advertising if the therapist is patient and willing to establish a long-term client base by enrolling clients the therapist already knows. If each known [potential] client tells two people about your skills, the process snowballs and leads rarely become a problem. With safety as an important issue to consider, inner circle referrals lower the chance of entering unsafe relationships or conditions with clients. Also, a good safety practice for outcall massage therapists is to let someone know where you’re going every appointment, and a higher level of security would be to call that person before and after the scheduled session to let the person know you are safe and sound.
