Evanston, Illinois (January 6, 2010) – Resource ETC LLC, the business partnership of Christopher Alvarado and Angela Palmier, announced today that it has concluded its contracted role as Industry Relations Specialists for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and is now engaging associations and institutions to assist massage therapy in gaining recognition as a legitimate complementary and integrative healthcare profession.
With NCBTMB, Resource ETC LLC has provided “supportive consulting services to increase the viability of professional certification,” states Alvarado. “Our industry relations work has achieved many goals for NCBTMB and has placed the organization in a far better position within the massage profession, and with regulatory agencies, than it has enjoyed in many, many years. We have appreciated the hard work, dedication, and positive intention demonstrated by the staff and volunteers of the organization.”
Palmier adds, “We wish NCBTMB the best and look forward to seeing the results of the many initiatives that are underway. Meeting the opportunities and challenges facing the massage therapy profession, in large part, depends on a solid, respected certification program. We know that the intention is present and we anxiously await the delivery.”
Resource ETC LLC will continue to offer education, training and consulting services and expects that the focused work in the integrative care arena will offer significant opportunities for collaboration and cooperation between entities that have yet to formalize relationships. “Integrative healthcare is more than a platform — it’s a necessity,” stated Palmier. “The healthcare services provided by MT’s are valuable, affordable, and effective and the public deserves access to qualified professionals who, in turn, need to be reasonably compensated for their work.”
“This is a crucial time for our profession and we need to ensure that massage therapy continues to grow in both acceptance and recognition,” adds Alvarado. “Decisions and actions made now will determine the future of massage practice for decades to come. We hope to be a catalyst in bringing massage therapy professionals to their rightful place.”
