Online organic retailer shopOrganic.com has added a principal, Laurie Marini, to the company and engaged Seattle-based Ayriss Jaglois Lynch as its marketing firm, both in preparation for launching an extensive expansion later this year.
Tucson, AZ (PRWEB) July 9, 2009 — Online organic retailer shopOrganic.com announced today it has added a new principal to the company. Laurie Marini, former COO and CFO of Canyon Ranch, who has a wealth of financial and operational expertise, officially joined the firm June 1, 2009.
“Laurie’s expertise in health and wellness with Canyon Ranch and her passion for the organic market make her a perfect fit for shopOrganic,” explains co-founder Susan Snedaker. “Before founding shopOrganic, I worked with Laurie on a number of projects. I was impressed with her skills, expertise and approach to business. We’re extremely pleased that Laurie has agreed to join us in this venture.”
Prior to joining shopOrganic, Marini held several key executive roles at Canyon Ranch. She played a key role in expanding the company to several new locations as well as extending the brand into new areas. “My background in finance and operations is a great fit for shopOrganic and I’m impressed with the progress the company has made to date,” says Marini. “We’re just starting our second capital raise and we’ve developed an exciting strategic plan moving forward. I’m looking forward to working with the team to implement this plan and watch the company really take off.”
“The cornerstone of a healthy lifestyle is clean and healthy food and shopOrganic is committed to sourcing the best organic and natural food and offering its product through an easy-to-use and educational website,” says Marini. “I am eager to continue contributing to the health and wellness field through this innovative internet retailer.”
Also in preparation for the expansion, shopOrganic.com has retained Seattle-based Ayriss Jaglois Lynch as its marketing firm to help develop and implement its strategic marketing plan. “We’re really excited about forming this partnership,” explains co-founder Susan Snedaker. “After initial discussions, it was clear that AJL understood our mission, vision and values. Their depth of experience in marketing and advertising, especially within our market niche, was a key decision point for us.”
“We love working with a young brand like shopOrganic,” says Mike Jaglois, CEO of Ayriss Jaglois Lynch, which has extensive experience in retail and green-oriented brands. “It’s a company that wants to make a difference and has a great story to tell. We’re very happy they’ve chosen us to help tell that story.”
shopOrganic was formed by Susan Snedaker and Lisa Mainz in early 2008 and the site launched in May of last year. Sales have grown throughout its first full year in business and the firm has continued to expand its product offerings to meet the needs of a wide variety of organic, gluten free, raw and vegan consumers as well as to offer natural and eco-friendly products including household products, pet products and more.
