Students interested in pursuing a spa-related degree may now apply for the International Spa Association’s (ISPA) Mary Tabacchi Scholarship. The $2,500 scholarship was created in honor of Mary Tabacchi, Ph.D., R.D., an associate professor in hospitality facilities and operations at Cornell University, who was one of the first educators in the spa field and helped shape many of today’s spa-industry leaders.

The scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student who has completed at least one year of college and is seeking a spa-related degree with a demonstrated interest in spa management. The recipient, who will be announced in May, will receive $2,500 to offset his or her education expenses, along with registration, airfare and hotel accommodations to attend an ISPA conference. To be eligible, students must have at least a 2.75 GPA.

The scholarship is part of the ISPA Foundation’s endowment fund, which aims to provide a permanent resource for the growth and sustainability of the spa industry.
