New York, NY-July 02, 2012- SpaFinder® Wellness Inc., has announced it has acquired SpaFinder Europe, the leading spa and wellness marketing and gifting resource in Europe. SpaFinder Europe, which was originally a joint venture, will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of SpaFinder Wellness.
“SpaFinder Europe has created a popular, localized version of SpaFinder.com, reaching hundreds of thousands of spa and wellness enthusiasts,” said Pete Ellis, chairman and CEO of SpaFinder Wellness. “By acquiring SpaFinder Europe, we are extending our commitment to provide the premiere inspiration, information and experiences to help people everywhere find their path to wellness.”
SpaFinder Wellness is set to reveal its new business model, which will delve much deeper into health and wellness offerings for consumers; the company has developed new consumer applications over the last year. Ellis noted that the acquisition allows SpaFinder Wellness to introduce the new products and technology the company is about to deploy across a unified platform and rapidly expand its network, services and products across the continent.
Cassandra Cavanah will continue to serve as executive director of SpaFinder Wellness’ European division. A new division head will be named at a later date.
SpaFinder was founded in 1986 as a spa travel company.
