Disobedient school children may be able to skip detention after all. According to Dailymail.com, children who get in trouble in the classroom will be punished with a foot massage.

Although medical experts admit there is little evidence to prove this technique works, Labour-run Lambeth Council in South London will spend £90,000 on sending reflexologists into various schools, using a company called Bud-Umbrella. The team will work in 60 primary schools and 14 secondary schools, with children 13 and younger.

Although some aren’t happy about the idea, the companies Web site claims reflexology “releases energy blockages,” “can calm aggressive feelings, improve listening skills, concentration, and focus,” “and relieves headaches and sinus problems.” (Kisiel, dailymail.com, 11/5)
