AKRON, Ohio – Cortiva Institute instructor Dianna Lynn Jungels was awarded a $750 Successful Hands grant package at the American Massage Conference (AMC) School Rally held May 1, 2015, at Massage Warehouse’s headquarters in Bolingbrook, Illinois. The Successful Hands Grant Program™, launched through the collaborative efforts of Biofreeze®, Massage Envy Spa® and Bon Vital’®, supports professional massage therapy students and their schools. ONE Concept, the conference organizer, partnered with Biofreeze, Massage Envy Spa and Bon Vital’ to promote the grant program during the conference.

“As a relatively new instructor at the Cortiva Institute in Joliet, Illinois, I attended last week’s AMC conference knowing that it would benefit my teaching career and my personal growth. I truly enjoyed the experience and being surrounded by like-minded people who share my passions—massage for the past 20 years, and now teaching massage classes,” stated Jungels. “We’re planning to use the grant for an appreciation celebration for the Joliet campus. Everyone there has been such a great help to me in my new career, and they care deeply about the students and the school.” Cortiva Institute is a member of the Steiner Education Group, which is a subsidiary of Steiner Leisure Limited, a global provider of spa services.

“We are very grateful for the support that Performance Health and Massage Envy Spa provide year after year. They truly set the bar high for others in our profession,” added Scott Dartnall, president and CEO of ONE Concept. “And please let me use this opportunity to extend an invitation to the next American Massage Conference being held in Tinley Park (Chicago), Illinois, June 11-14, 2015. Please visit americanmassageconference.com to register.”

“This year’s inspirational and educational conference included presentations by CG Funk, Vice President, Industry Relations and Product Development, Massage Envy Spa Franchising; Anne Williams, Education Program Director, Associated Massage and Bodywork Professionals; Angie Patrick, Director of Business Development, Massage Warehouse; Jerrilyn Cambron, President, Massage Therapy Foundation board of trustees; and Donna Sarvello, Vice President of Educational Support, NCTMB,” said Lynda Solien-Wolfe, Vice President, Massage Therapy and Spa, Performance Health.

“The conference’s unique venue—Massage Warehouse’s headquarters—provided additional value and interest. As part of the conference, attendees received a behind-the-scenes peek into product distribution. I’m sure everyone left with a heightened appreciation for our industry’s processes, our profession and each other.

“We’ll be awarding two $500 Successful Hands student grants at the Smart From The Start student program at the June AMC Conference, so I encourage all students to attend and to join us on Facebook,” concluded Solien-Wolfe.

Current massage therapy students can also apply for one of eight $1,000 Successful Hands grants. The grant application process requires students to complete an essay of 200 words or less on “What being a successful massage therapist means to me.” A team of industry representatives will review all submissions to choose the eight winners. In addition, each winner’s school will receive a $500 grant and a $500 product package.

Student applications must be received by October 15, 2015, and are accepted online at successfulhandsgrants.com. Winners will be notified no later than December 1, 2015. The grant funds can be used for program fees, books and supplies, licensing, association membership or to purchase products.
