Akron, Ohio — The North-West College in West Covina, California, was awarded a $750 Successful Hands school grant package at the ONE Concept School Rally held July 11 in San Diego, California.
The Successful Hands Grant Program, launched through the collaborative efforts of Biofreeze, Massage Envy Spa and Bon Vital’, supports the professional massage therapy student in their educational pursuits. ONE Concept, the conference organizer, partnered with Biofreeze, Massage Envy Spa and Bon Vital’ to promote the grant program during the conference.
Elizabeth Vinatieri, massage therapy instructor and educational lead at North-West College, accepted the grant, $500 cash, plus a $250 product package, for her winning school.
“This grant will mean the world to our students and school, as well as knowing we have the support of some of the industry’s largest and best known contributors,” Vinatieri said. “This also opens the door for our students to expand their product knowledge with access to the highest quality products in the industry. At North-West College, we are always looking for the brightest and best minds to mold for the ever advancing field of massage therapy, and this grant allows us to continue to do so. Current massage therapy students can also apply for one of five $1,000 Successful Hands grants. The grant application process requires students to complete an essay of 200 words or less on “What does being a successful massage therapist mean to me?” A team of industry representatives will review all submissions to choose the five winners. In addition, each winner’s school will receive a $500 grant and a $500 product package.
Student applications must be received by October 15 and are accepted online at www.SuccessfulHandsGrants.com. Winners will be notified no later than December 1, 2014. The grant funds can be used for program fees, books and supplies, licensing, association membership or to purchase product and equipment.
