On Dec. 8, the Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy in Longmont, Colorado, revealed that its massage therapy licensure program will now expand to include a part-time massage therapy certification program.
Since January 2012, the Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy has educated 186 licensed massage therapists in their accelerated program, which is completed in five months, with a 100% success rate in graduation and licensure.
“There is an ever-growing demand in the market for well-trained, mindful massage therapists who support stress relief, injury prevention and recovery and overall holistic well-being. We’re here to train those therapists to rise to the occasion, and provide individualized therapeutic bodywork to meet those needs,” stated Jill Kristin Berkana, internationally renowned massage therapy school founder and educational pioneer.
In response to market demand, the Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy has created a part-time program to also meet the needs of students who can find greater ease taking night and weekend classes, in lieu of the accelerated daytime schedule.

She goes on to say, “after educating almost 200 students through our accelerated program, I felt a strong desire to be more inclusive, and offer this educational opportunity to people that want to fit this into an already full schedule of family, work, etc.”
As the Institute continues to grow, so does their ability to cater to the ever-changing needs of the community and students it serves. Building from the success of the accelerated massage therapy certification program; the part-time massage therapy certification program will run over the course of 11 months while continuing to maintain excellence in the profession and offering more flexibility to their students.
The upcoming 2020 Part Time Massage Therapy Certification Program will launch on March 5, 2020, and will run through February 5, 2021. Classes will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5:30 to 9:15 p.m., and three Saturdays a month from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
To roll out the new program, the Berkana Institute is extending a special early enrollment tuition discount, which is available until January 15, 2020. Class size is kept small, and space is limited. The Berkana Institute of Massage Therapy is accepting applications now for both the accelerated and part-time massage therapy certification programs.
