Massage therapists in Quebec, Canada, have one new professional association—the result of three provincial associations merging into one—it was announced Nov. 17.

The new association, Mon Réseau +, has become the largest association of massage therapists, with more than 5,000 members. It represents practitioners of massage therapy, orthotherapy, kinesiotherapy, and naturopathy.

Members of Mon Réseau + are specialists, which means “members have received a minimum level of training and then pursued a specialization in kinesiology, orthotherapy or naturotherapy,” explained the association’s general manager, Martin Vallée.

“We worked very hard to create this novel approach, said the president of the board of directors, Paul Lacroix, “to make it correspond to the expectations and needs of the population, our members and the massage therapy environment.”
