Spa Industry Professionals Gather to Attend Educational Sessions and Promote Networking
IRVINE, Calif. (May 20, 2009) – Like most industries, the spa industry is ever-changing and adapting to the market. UC Irvine Extension’s “Spa and Hospitality Management” certificate program, pioneer of the first and only fully-online certificate program of its kind in the West Coast, has become renowned for preparing the industry’s most elite and qualified spa professionals for success. As an integral part of the spa industry, UC Irvine Extension’s director of education programs, Angela Jeantet, continues to contribute to the industry with the organization of the First Annual Southwest EduSpa Summit in Houston, Texas on June 1.
Jeantet, along with representatives from the Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston, as well as from Houston Community College organized the summit to share insights, discuss strategy and offer assistance to ensure the success of spa industry leaders from all over the world—especially amid today’s tough economic times. Jeantet will also share educational opportunities that are available to spa professionals of all levels.
“UC Irvine Extension is known for addressing needs and meeting challenges,” says Jeantet. “With an extensive knowledge of the industry through our advisory board and instructors, we are able to prepare spa professionals in resorts, destination spas, medical spas and day spas to be successful and thrive in the spa industry. I’m pleased to be a part of this first-ever summit in which we are able to provide spa professionals with the information necessary to meet the challenges of the industry.”
