Adults in the U.S. are using the internet and other sources more than ever now when it comes to medical information. Recent surveys show that the percentage has doubled from 2001 to 2007. In 2001, 16 percent of U.S. adults used the internet for medical information, while in 2007, 32 percent were online seeking medical-related material. This is attributed, researchers feel, to the increase in internet accessibility and the ease of use that has come in recent years. (Lubell, Health IT Strategist, 8/21).
