Use Acupressure for Digestive Headaches, by Kristine Kaoverii Weber, MASSAGE Magazine Self-Care TipSome headaches are caused by digestive disturbances, such as overeating or constipation. One of the most well-known acupoints, Large Intestine 4 (LI-4), can help stimulate the digestive system to enable the body to get rid of toxins that are causing the headache.

You can use this treatment several times a day, until the headache eases.

  • Place your right thumb on Large Intestine 4 on the left hand. Slide your right thumb down into the webbing between the fingers and press in toward the index finger until you find a slightly nervy area.

Massage this point in small circles for one to two minutes.

Contraindication: Pregnancy.

Also beneficial for diarrhea, constipation, rashes, tooth pain and facial tension.
