The Zero Balancing Health Association (ZBHA) is very pleased to announce that ZB faculty and Board member Megan Lavery has been appointed to the Massage Therapy Body of Knowledge Task Force. This is an eight-person task force not affiliated with any specific organization, funded by the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP), AMTA-Council of Schools, Federation of State Massage Boards (FSMTB), Massage Therapy Foundation (MTF), and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB).

The goal of the Task Force is to define the foundational elements of the practice of massage therapy (scope of practice, terminology, describing the field) and define the competencies of an entry- level massage therapist in terms of knowledge, skills, and abilities.    This body of knowledge will inform and allow for consistent use of terminology in the fields of massage education, licensure, certification, practice, accreditation and research.  The ZBHA acknowledges Megan and her fellow Task Force members for the clarity they are striving to bring to the field.

Zero Balancing is a hands-on body-mind system of therapy that balances the relationship of energy and structure within the bones and tissues of the body.   Aligning energy with structure enhances the body’s natural healing processes and supports optimum health.  For more information, visit or phone the ZBHA at  410-381-8956.
