Guidelines for Submission Materials 

• First, send a query to our editorial office by electronic mail to kmenehan@massagemag.com, No telephone or faxed queries.
• Manuscripts must be double-spaced with ample margins, submitted by attaching a text file to an email sent to the above email address.
• Reference lists (required on technical pieces) must include the author, title, publisher, city and state of publication and publication date of cited works.
• Source lists (required on all pieces) must include each source's name, telephone number and address.
• We do not accept multiple submissions.

Photos/Illustrations

• Artwork should be in the form of professional-quality photographs or illustrations. Include complete captions, attribution and the address and phone number of the photographer or artist. Submit artwork electronically as a compressed email attachment (preferably Macintosh), and saved as an EPS, PDF, PSD or Tif file. Photos or illustrations submitted must be at least 266 lines' resolution.

Author's bio

• Include a 20 to 100 word author's biography at the end of the article. This should include: the author's professional and/or educational background; what the author does now; other information that would identify the author (other publications written for, books authored, etc.).

Rights

• We generally request first North American rights, the right to publish the article on-line and in CD-Rom form, and the right to grant permission for reprints.

Payment

• Payment for articles ranges from $50 to $400, depending on the subject matter, category, length and quality of writing. Payment increases proportionately for longer and more weighty articles.
• Payment for photos ranges from $15 to $40 per published print.
• Payment for illustrations ranges from $40 to $100 per piece.
• Payment is made upon publication. Authors, photographers and artists also receive two complimentary copies of the issue their work appears in.

Response/publication

• Response to a submission is usually made within two months. If we decide to publish your work, a publishing agreement will be sent to you.
• Manuscripts and artwork are returned only with SASE.
• MASSAGE Magazine is a bimonthly publication. The length of time between acceptance and publication of any article can vary from two to 24 months, sometimes longer.
