Daniels Institute of Massage and the Healing Arts
The goal of Daniels Institute of Massage and the Healing Arts’ massage therapy program is to create a supportive learning environment so that each student completes this program with the ability to provide clients with the treatment they need whether that be Swedish, deep tissue, connective tissue, sports massage, energy work, or rehabilitative techniques.
Admission Process
To be considered for admission to this program all applicants must:
- Provide identification for proof of age, all applicants must be at least 18 years old.
- Submit a completed application with the $100 application fee
- Attend an interview with the Director
- Sign an Enrollment Agreement
- Submit any applicable transcripts
Programs Details
The 550 hour massage therapy program consists of all of the following courses:
detailed study of the skeletal system, joints and major muscles, especially in
application to massage therapy.
PATHOLOGY- in this course students will study medical terminology, signs and symptoms
of disease, indications and contraindications, as well as pharmacology
(medications).
MASSAGE THEORY & PRACTICE – This course provides students with an understanding of the history of the massage industry from the beginning to the present day and helps students learn massage therapy modalities using a hands-on approach.
ADJUNCT MODALITIES- this hands-on course teaches students modalities like Asian body therapy, chair massage, prenatal massage, reflexology, hydrotherapy, massage therapy business practices, and hygiene regulations.
ETHIC – This course helps students to understand the regulations and codes they must adhere to that are set in place by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB).
