Become acquainted with a local chiropractor and his staff. Offer a complementary massage to the chiropractor and an associate in the office (but don’t overdo freebies and trade-outs.) My practice stays busy with referrals from my chiropractor, clinical nutritionist, naturopath and other bodyworkers. A fresh supply of business cards at each of their offices helps keep your name out there. Also, when my chiropractor has fundraisers in his office, I donate a gift certificate for massage therapy. A small investment in nicely printed gift certificates placed where your client checks out after a session can generate extra income for last-minute gifts.
