Sandy Fritz is a licensed massage therapist, board-certified through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) and Certified Massage and Bodywork Educator by the Alliance for Massage Therapy Education (AFMTE). Fritz has over 45 years of experience as a massage therapist. Since 1985 she has owned, operated and is the head instructor of Health Enrichment Center School of Therapeutic Massage in Lapeer, Michigan. In 1995 Fritz first published the textbook “Mosby’s Fundamental of Therapeutic Massage,” soon followed by “Mosby’s Essential Sciences for Therapeutic Massage: Anatomy, Physiology, Biomechanics, and Pathology,” both with multiple updated editions. She has authored other massage therapy related textbooks and articles. Using her bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and master’s degree in Organizational Management background, Fritz has been active on many levels and with multiple organizations in the massage therapy community, volunteering in a variety of capacities. Unique to her long professional massage therapy career is work with a variety of professional athletic organizations and individual athletes. Fritz is an active member on the executive committee for the International Consortium on Manual Therapies, a science-based interdisciplinary research community for practitioners and researchers. Fritz and her family own and manage a franchise-based massage therapy spa and wellness center and integrate operations of the school with the massage therapy center. An ongoing passion for Fritz is the evolving future of massage therapy.
