¦ We ask that you search your souls and envision a memorial that inspires visitors to contemplate what the attack means to them personally, to us as family members, to the community, to the country, and to the world. “ Pentagon Memorial Fund Web site, 2005.

In remembrance of those who lost their lives during the tragic events on Sept. 11, 2001, it is with honor Health Net Federal Services, LLC, the government operations division of Health Net, Inc. (NYSE:HNT), announces its participation in the dedication of the Pentagon Memorial, set to take place Sept. 11, 2008, in Arlington, Va.

Health Net is honored to be a part of this American tribute in memory of the 184 lives lost in Arlington on Sept. 11, 2001, when American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon, said Steve Tough, president, Health Net Federal Services. Many of us lost friends and family that day, and as a Department of Defense contractor serving the men, women and families of our Armed Forces, we personally felt the loss of the 125 service members who died in the Pentagon attack.

The Pentagon Memorial, set on 1.9 acres adjacent to the Pentagon and closest to the point of impact, was thoughtfully designed to memorialize those lost at the site. Each of the 184 cast metal seats is engraved with the name of a victim and set above a glowing pool of water. At night, the pools appear as brilliant white light, visible to neighboring traffic and planes arriving and departing from the Ronald Reagan National Airport.

Health Net™s motivation to support building this American tribute is captured in the following excerpt from the Pentagon Memorial Fund Web site, eloquently written by the daughter of a Pentagon victim. It is a special place to reflect on the magnitude their lives had on those of us still living “ a place that tells my story.

Health Net Federal Services donated $250,000 toward the building of the Pentagon Memorial and established a Pentagon Memorial Fund Donation Program for its associates. The company matched each dollar raised by associates, contributing nearly $18,000 in addition to its initial donation.
