The Horst M. Rechelbacher Foundation is building on its legacy of sustainability and its commitment to “next gen” beauty and wellness professionals. Following the successful launch of the Sustainable Beginnings and Oncology Esthetics scholarships administered by Beauty Changes Lives, the Horst Rechelbacher is introducing a Green Circle Salon Certificate scholarship award for salon and spa owners.

Green Circle Salons (GCS) is a movement to help the salon industry reduce its environmental footprint and provide options for consumers seeing genuine green options in salon care. Since its 2009 inception, GCS has established a network of 3,200 member salons across North America, delivering a comprehensive pathway to financial and environmental sustainability with a green business program.

Applications for the Green Circle Salons certificate will be accepted between March 1 and May 31, 2020 at beautychangeslives.org. As the latest addition to the Beauty Changes Lives family of scholarships offered by the Horst M. Rechelbacher Foundation, the Green Circle certificate builds upon the Horst M. Rechelbacher Foundation’s key values of sustainability, entrepreneurship, and an integrated approach to beauty and wellness. Nicole Rechelbacher, CEO of Intelligent Nutrients pioneered the Horst M. Rechelbacher Foundation, honoring her late father Horst – widely recognized as the father of natural skincare. “I grew up in spas and salons and saw firsthand all of the possibilities, rewards, and joy this industry sparks,” says Rechelbacher. “Beauty Changes Lives’ work to elevate perceptions of this amazing industry complements our Foundation’s desire to give back in a meaningful way to the next generation of beauty leaders.” Horst Rechelbacher was posthumously awarded the Legacy award by Beauty Changes Lives in 2018 during the Beauty Changes Lives Experience at America’s Beauty Show.

Three Green Circle  Salon Certificate awards of $500 each will be awarded during the Beauty Changes Lives spring scholarship season. The certificate complements other offerings generously founded by the Horst M. Rechelbacher Foundation, including the Sustainable Beginnings tuition scholarship for cosmetology students and the Oncology Education scholarships awarded to licensed estheticians. Both scholarships honor Horst Rechelbacher’s commitment to education across the beauty professional’s career. Applications for the Sustainable Beginnings,  Oncology Esthetics and Green Circle certificates will be accepted March 1-May 31, and complete details are available at beautychangeslives.org.

Remarking on the scholarships, Beauty Changes Lives President Lynelle Lynch says, “Horst’s career showed the world how beauty, wellness and the environment are linked together in a perpetuating cycle that can achieve so much good. We are privileged to continue his legacy through these generous scholarships.”
