Florida massage therapist Lynda Solien-Wolfe, L.M.T., N.C.T.M.B., received this year’s distinguished service award from the Massachusetts chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association.

Solien-Wolfe, described as “the marketing guru for our profession,” by Mary White, the chapter’s president, received the award at the chapter’s recent meeting.

Solien-Wolfe has a private massage practice in Merritt Island, Florida, and is the education director for Massage and Spa for Performance Health, Inc., the makers of Biofreeze pain reliever. She is also on MASSAGE Magazine’s editorial advisory board.

“About four years ago, a member of our leadership team approached her to ask advice and to see how we could go about making our events more attractive,” White said. “Ongoing introductions to vendors who contribute to our great profession is just one of the ways this person has served us. Door prizes, event bags and sponsorship are others.

“[Solien-Wolfe] works diligently with the Massage Therapy Foundation, creating and fortifying industry relationships that in the long run benefit each and every licensed massage therapist,” White added.
